Annual Requirement

Countless studies have proven that parent involvement, in their child’s school, positively impacts student achievement. Consequently, the parents’ role at Sculptor is critical to our success as a school. We ask that you volunteer and become involved as much as possible. The yearly requirement is only 20 hours for your first child and 10 hours for each additional child you have enrolled at Sculptor Charter School. Without fulfillment of required volunteer hours, your child’s/children’s placement may be subject to a new student application/lottery process.

Volunteering is easy and the time can add up quickly. For instance, a requested classroom task, P.T.O. meetings, field trips, etc., equate to volunteer hours. For additional volunteer opportunities, check with your child’s teacher, the front office or the Sculptor PTO.

Your time is accrued by signing in & out of the Raptor system in the front office. Off-site volunteering time, such as fulfilling a teachers/school task request or for a donation of requested materials, should be submitted to your child’s homeroom teacher on a “Volunteer Credit Request” form found HERE.

Printed copies are available in the front office.

Please note that Volunteer Credit Request forms must be submitted within 30 days of the task completed to your child’s homeroom teacher or to the requesting Sculptor employee. Volunteer time not reported in a timely manner will not be credited.

Please note: The purpose of volunteering is to provide a service to the school. Conferences with your child’s teacher, lunch with your child, or other activities not pertaining to the assigned volunteer task shall be handled outside of when you are signed in as a volunteer. For these types of activities, you will need to be signed in as a visitor.
