Middle Years Program

The Core Knowledge Middle Years Program

Here at Sculptor Charter School, an Official Core Knowledge School, our middle year's program begins in 6th grade. While Brevard Public School's middle year's program begins at 7th grade, we want an extra year of middle school in order to adequately prepare our students for the rigors of our advanced curriculum. Students may begin earning high school credits as early as 7th grade. High school courses available to 7th graders are Spanish I and Algebra I Honors. In 8th grade, students may select Spanish II, Algebra I Honors, or Geometry Honors, also for high school credit. Although Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science courses are not available for high school credit, the content covered in these classes more than prepares them for high school. Sculptor graduates have participated successfully in rigorous high school classes such as AP and Dual Enrollment. In addition, the Core Knowledge curriculum emphasizes understanding and knowledge of the various cultures around the world. Knowledge brings about understanding. Understanding fosters acceptance. In our global economy, understanding and acceptance of other cultures is vital to the success of our nation.

In addition, we believe the fine arts are an integral part of being a well-rounded student. All of our students participate in Art, Music, Drama, Technology, and P.E. We offer clubs, during the school day, so that all students have an opportunity to participate. Our clubs include: Chorus, Stagecraft, Drama, Theater Crafts, Drum Line, Information Systems, Physical Fitness, and Running Club.

We are proud to be an Official Core Knowledge School and, more importantly, proud of the tremendous opportunities we provide our students.
