5K Scorpion Scurry and Family Fit Fest was a great success!!!

Sculptor Charter School located on Grissom Parkway, hosted the inaugural 5K Scorpion Scurry last Saturday morning donating all proceeds to the family of Sculptor student, recently diagnosed with a serious illness. More than 200 participants enjoyed the brisk morning walk/run raising several thousand dollars in support of the family. Groups joining in the run included the Pre-K-8th grade Sculptor students, the Park Avenue running club and numerous family and friends of the school and the Family.

Organized by Sculptor’s P.E. Coach Clarissa Kirk, the run was followed by the third annual Family Fit Fest, featuring local physicians and other health providers, including Parrish Medical Hospital, Dr. Rao, Cardiologist, Dr. Flynn, Radiologist, Demers Chiropractic and many others who provided free health screenings and wellness information. Many of the more than 300 attendees participated in dance and group exercise routines while Sarah’s Dance Studio and Brevard County Sheriff K-9 Corp provided entertainment and demonstrated their skills.

I wanted to "Thank" everyone that came out and helped to set everything up for yesterday's 5 K. It was a beautiful day and the love and support overwhelmed our family. I want to say a special thank you to the entire Sculptor staff! (and Coach Kirk for making this happen and her Sculptor mom) They have not only lifted us up in prayers but have been a tremendous blessing to our family through the last 8 years we have attended that school. The teachers there aren't just teachers of school but teachers of life. Truly showing our children how to walk the walk not just talk the talk. The kids notice! I also want to say I am lifted up by the love the kids at Sculptor have shown as well. I can't express all the gratitude our family feels. We are a truly a BLESSED family. Thank you so much for everything. I know I say that all the time but it is true. Please keep my son in your prayers.
