When the number of applicants exceeds the capacity of the school, class, grade level or building, Sculptor will implement a lottery system to ensure all applicants have an equal opportunity of being admitted to the school. The lottery is held through a random selection process that complies with Florida law.
A charter school may give enrollment preference to the following student populations:
- Students who are siblings of a student enrolled in the charter school.
- Students who are the children of a member of the governing board of the charter school.
- Students who are the children of an employee of the charter school.
- Students who have successfully completed, during the previous year, a voluntary prekindergarten education program under ss. 1002.51-1002.79 provided by the charter school, the charter school’s governing board, or a voluntary prekindergarten provider that has a written agreement with the governing board.
- Students who are the children of an active duty member of any branch of the United States Armed Forces
- Students who are the children of a safe-school officer, as defined in s. 1006.12, at the school.
Sculptor Charter School follows Florida’s Class Size Amendment (Florida Statute 1003.03) as it pertains to charter schools. Any student openings are based on the limits of the Class Size Amendment.
For 2023-2024, Controlled Open Enrollment, pursuant to Florida Statute 1002.31(2)(b): Capacity for K-3 is 223; Capacity for 4-8 is 335; Capacity for the school is 558.
